Attorney General Jeff Landry Arrests Madisonville Man on Child Pornography Charges

BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry announced today that a Madisonville man has been arrested for Child Pornography and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

“I take all cases of child exploitation very seriously,” said General Landry. “My office is committed to doing all we can to prevent crime and apprehend criminals.”

Marc Benson, 21, was arrested after a Crime Stoppers Tip was received from the Mandeville Police Department that an adult male was soliciting a 14-year old female and a 16-year-old female online. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for Benson’s residence and executed a search warrant on February 12, 2016. During execution of the search warrant, investigators then seized electronic evidence from the home. A forensic examination of the devices revealed evidence of the crime of child pornography involving juveniles and an arrest warrant for Benson was obtained.

Benson was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on February 16, 2016. He was charged with one count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and one count of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit has investigated thousands of computer crimes which have victimized children from infants to 16 years of age. To report child exploitation, call (800) 256-4506.
