Attorney General Jeff Landry Announces Consumer Protection Week

BATON ROUGE, LA – Next week is National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW); and Attorney General Jeff Landry is joining consumer groups, national advocacy organizations, and over 100 federal, state, and local agencies to help educate Louisiana consumers on ways to protect themselves in the marketplace.

“My office works tirelessly to protect consumers from scammers and fraudsters,” said General Landry. “Since education is one of the best tools, we hope these workshops will help Louisiana residents and businesses increase their knowledge.”

The 19th NCPW runs from Sunday, March 5 to Saturday, March 11. “We challenge citizens to use this annual awareness week as a time to work together and share information to help others protect their privacy, manage their finances, and avoid scams,” continued General Landry.

All events are free. For more information about these events or other consumer-related issues, call General Landry’s Consumer Protection Hotline at 800-351-4889.
