It is estimated that $40 billion is lost each year to telemarketers and, unfortunately, many of these victims are our senior citizens. Research shows that Americans aged 65 and older are the prime targets for scams and receive more mail and telephone solicitations than any other age group.
Everyday our office receives phone calls involving a trusting senior citizen who has lost his or her life savings to a con-artist. Although every scam reported to our office is investigated, education is the only way to protect yourself from becoming a victim of a scam.
