Five Arrested in Greater New Orleans Region for Crimes Against Children

Attorney General Jeff Landry Requests Assistance from Public

BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced the arrests of five men from across the New Orleans metropolitan area on hundreds of counts of Internet crimes against children. Amid the arrests, General Landry is asking the public for their assistance and information on two of the alleged perpetrators.

“My team and our law enforcement partners work hard to protect Louisiana’s children and make our communities safer,” said General Landry. “But today, we need assistance from the people we serve.”

“The investigations are ongoing; however, there are indications two of the men arrested may have abused children in the past,” explained General Landry. “So I beg anyone with information on David Rees and Nam Vo or their potential victims to please contact my Cyber Crime Unit.”

Justin Pilgrim, 35 of Kenner, was arrested on 17 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles (Possession). The arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit (LBI CCU), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Louisiana State Police (LSP), Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO), and Kenner Police Department. Pilgrim was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail.

David Pizzalato, 18 of Chalmette, was arrested on 200 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Possession) and 1 count of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Distribution). The arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the LBI CCU, HSI, LSP, and St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office. Pizzalato was booked into the St. Bernard Parish Jail.

David Rees, 48 of Metairie, was arrested on 250 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Possession) and 250 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles (Possession). The arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the LBI CCU, HSI, LSP, and JPSO. Rees was booked into the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Jail.

Andrew Smith, 21 of Kenner, was arrested on 6 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Possession). The arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the LBI CCU, HSI, LSP, JPSO, and Kenner Police Department. Smith was booked into the Jefferson Parish Jail.

Nam Vo, 40 of Covington, was arrested on 30 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Possession), 4 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen (Production), and 8 counts of Molestation of a Juvenile Under the Age of Thirteen. The arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the LBI CCU, HSI, LSP, New Orleans Police Department, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Hammond Police Department. Vo was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
