Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill Offers Black Friday Safety Tips
Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the entire year.
While many people may be looking for the best deals, Attorney General Liz
Murrill encourages everyone to be vigilant and beware of possible scams.
“Scams are still possible while taking advantage of any
sweet deals or low prices on Black Friday and during the holiday season. I
encourage all consumers to be vigilant and do their research before purchasing
an item. Louisianans can check my tips first, to help them safely prepare for
the holiday shopping season,” said Attorney General Murrill.
·
Always be aware of your surroundings when
shopping.
·
Plan your shopping trip before you head out the
door.
·
Be patient with other consumers over items –
it’s not worth it to argue or fight over merchandise.
·
Use a credit card – that way it’s easier to
dispute a purchase.
·
Don’t carry around cash.
·
Make sure you know the store’s return policies
and warranty information on items.
·
Keep your receipts
We want everyone to have a safe Black Friday shopping
experience!
