Attorney General Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents arrest former maintenance worker of the Plaquemines Parish School Board
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation special agents arrested a man from Port Sulphur on December 17, 2024.
47-year-old Claude Allen Phillips, of Diamond Road in Port Sulphur, was arrested for violating:
- L.R.S. 23:1208 C.1 Misrepresentations Concerning Benefits over $10,000
On October 22, 2024, special agents received a complaint from a representative of the Plaquemines Parish School Board. The complaint alleged that a former maintenance worker of the Plaquemines Parish School Board might have knowingly committed Workers Compensation Fraud.
Special Agents conducted a criminal investigation into the complaint and obtained an overwhelming amount of evidence that Claude Phillips obtained financial benefits to which he was not entitled.
Special Agents secured an arrest warrant for Phillips for violations of Louisiana law, prohibited acts as defined by L.R.S. 23:1208 C.1, Misrepresentations Concerning Benefits over $10,000.
On December 17, 2024, Phillips surrendered to agents at the Plaquemines Parish Jail where was placed under arrest and booked without incident.
His bond information is unknown at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
