Republican AGs ask President Trump to secure border, deport illegal aliens
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill joined a coalition of 20 state attorneys general led by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach in a letter to the Trump administration asking the President-elect to secure the border and stop Biden immigration policies that caused a historic surge of illegal immigration.
“Inauguration Day can’t get here soon enough. I support President Trump’s illegal immigration policies to keep Louisiana and America safe. Close the border,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill
Republican attorneys general took the Biden administration to court to stop some of Biden’s lawless immigration executive orders. They prevailed in virtually every one of those lawsuits. Most recently for instance, Kobach and a coalition of attorneys general won a federal district court injunction to stop the Biden administration from providing Obamacare benefits to illegal aliens.
According to the letter, Trump’s policies during his first term resulted in record-low illegal immigration. The Republican AG coalition looks forward to Trump reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, ending the abuse of immigration parole and stopping federal agencies from granting birthright citizenship.
“Republican attorneys general will support President Trump as he restores the rule of law to our immigration system. We will work with President Trump to secure the border, end failed Biden administration immigration policies and effect the largest deportation in U.S. history. We will stand with President Trump as he makes America safe again,” the letter reads.
In addition to Kobach and Murrill, attorneys general from 18 other states signed the letter. They include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
