23-year-old Aidan John Fontenot, of McClendon Street in Lafayette, was arrested on Sept. 30, 2026, on the following charges:

• Five counts of Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material Depicting Children Under 13 (LA R.S. 14:81.1)

• One count of Sexual Abuse of an Animal (LA R.S. 14:89.3)

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents initiated an investigation into multiple cybertips received from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). The cybertips alleged that an individual was distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) across multiple online applications, including Snapchat, Kik, and Discord. LBI agents successfully identified Fontenot as the suspect.

This arrest was a result of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office.

 Fontenot was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Bond is set at $550,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.
