Attorney General Liz Murrill claims victory in baseless challenge to Louisiana’s oil and gas permitting decisions

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill defeated another activist challenge from environmentalists seeking to undermine Louisiana’s economy.

On Monday, April 29, in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, a three-judge panel dismissed the Sierra Club’s frivolous challenge to Louisiana’s approval of permits for an LNG export facility along the Calcasieu Ship Channel.

“The law is clear, and once again, the hardworking people of Louisiana have been vindicated by the court. I will continue to defend our economy and the businesses and citizens of this State from baseless attacks by environmental activists—in lawsuits like this and others such as our lawsuit challenging the Biden Administration’s illegal LNG Export Ban,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
